The Dr. Stanley J. Gorrell Legacy Business & Scholarship Fund
Dr. Stanley J. Gorrell embodies the characteristics of Upbuilding individuals and the Kingdom of God, to developing the whole person, so that society at large can benefit while building God’s Kingdom. A call to impact the world through God’s Word while demonstrating the love of God. It consists of four taskforces with strategic objectives in the areas of: ministry/ kingdom building, business, community development, vocational advancement, scholarly excellence and talent. Fund is awarded to applicants who have demonstrated extraordinary accomplishments that aligns with the vision of Dr. Stanley J. Gorrell to help further their respective goals.
The Global Volunteer Taskforce provides opportunity for individuals who are ministry minded and endeavors to provide support, humanitarian aid and missions work around the globe through our projects and partner organizations. The Legacy Business and Scholarship Fund is in honor of four living servant-leaders and in memory of three beloved servant-leaders. The fund consists of scholarships, and grants for those who embody the ideals of Dr. Stanley J. Gorrell and who has made a great impact in the lives of individuals both in the marketplace, within society and spiritually.
The fund honors the following living legacies: It honors Dr. Stanley J. Gorrell, and Emeritus Pastor Bernadette Lamour. It also honors the memory of the late Mother Thelucia Lallemand, Evangelist Irene Gorrell and Bishop Norman Nelson Quick.
Our Current Scholarship & Grant Opportunities
Dr. Stanley J. Gorrell Scholarship:
Supports distinguished graduate students and or extraordinary undergraduate students with great accomplishments in ministry and or in the marketplace.
Pastor Bernadette Lamour-Lallemand Scholarship:
The following groups and or categories of people get first priority.
- Complete an application, state which scholarship you are applying for.
- Any qualifying family member of those that the respective memorial is named after
- Qualified K.I. M leaders and or their qualified relative
- Priority given to active, supportive, members of K.I.M (Tither, faithful member)
- Pastoral recommendation letter, approved by the General Administrators office of K.I.M
- Essay on future educational goal and or trade school, Maximum 500 words, include a statement on how the scholarship fund will be utilized. (proof of acceptance into undergrad program or trade school). And, or
- Be a graduate, OR post-grad student with a GPA of 3.5 + (transcript required)
- Any applicant from none K.I.M is welcome to apply. GPA requirement 3.8+ accompanied by letter of recommendation from their pastor and or from a 5 fold ministry leader from K.I.M .
- All applicants must complete an online application.
The Bishop Stanley J. Gorrell Business Grant:
Business must have been in operation for a minimum of 5 yrs.
For start up businesses and or ministry that seeks to be a blessing to individuals, the body of Christ or a disadvantaged group of people and or a community. “A blessing to the body of Christ”. Grant is determined by the discretion of the Board of Trustees.
Grants are for active K.I.M members upon recommendation of their pastor. (Request for a grant must be completed and signed by applicant and applicants pastor)
- A statement on the purpose for the application.
- Statement of the services the business offers. And, describe the population that the business serves and how.
- Grants and or emergency application for a grant are for special circumstances [ and given once within a 5-year period, unless the applicant is applying for the first time.
- Define Hardship.
- Demonstrates a track record of financial due diligence. Present a plan and support for overcoming the hardship.
- In some cases, applicants may be required to obtain credit repair and or financial planning service from a K.I.M provider.
7. Business Grants granted on a case by case only.
8. Complete Grant application or emergency grant application online. (One within six months period)
LADY YOLANDA GORRELL AWARD:
Awarded for musical talent and or community outreach. Awarded to a first lady of distinction and or a distinguished individual whose ministry supports mental health and or community outreach.
Eligibility Criteria:
(Open to all worshipers, worship leaders, minister of music and music students)
None K.I.M members are welcome to apply.
- Any qualifying family member of those that the respective memorial is named after
- Qualified K.I. M leaders and or their qualified relative
- Priority given to active, supportive, members of K.I.M (Tither, faithful member)
- Pastoral recommendation letter, approved by the General Administrators office of K.I.M
- Essay on what does praise and worship means to you. What contribution, if any, have you made in the music ministry of your church? What role do you play in the music and or Praise and worship ministry in the Kingdom of God? How do you hope to impact the music and or worship ministry in the body of Christ.
- (If applicable) Maximum 500 words, include a statement on how the scholarship fund will be utilized. (proof of acceptance into undergrad program or trade school). And, or
- (If applicable) Be a graduate, OR post-grad student with a GPA of 3.5 + (transcript required)
- Any applicant from none K.I.M is welcome to apply.
- If Music Student. GPA requirement 3.8+
- letter of recommendation from your pastor and or from a 5 fold ministry leader from K.I.M .
- All applicants must complete an online application.
This Award is for an adult who have overcome the challenges of reading, self-determined to becoming literate and have raised successful children who have obtained higher education despite challenges, obstacles and under great difficulty. This is exclusively open to community residents of under-developed nations.
